Suta Goswami
It redirects the devotee from temporary heavenly rewards to the Linga as the sign of Pati (Śiva), whose grace alone cuts pāśa and grants deathlessness beyond Svarga.
By implying that all conditioned states—even Svarga—end in dissolution, it points to Śiva-tattva as the only non-decaying Reality (Pati) capable of freeing the Pashu from mortality.
A spirit of vairāgya supporting Pāśupata discipline: worship of the Linga with inner detachment, aiming for liberation rather than merit-based heavenly enjoyment.
