Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva-puja teaching to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It frames Linga/Śiva-pūjā as devotion-led worship of Mṛtyuñjaya, emphasizing that Śaṅkara grants both bhukti (legitimate worldly fruits) and mukti (release), making worship a complete sādhanā for householders and renunciants alike.
Śiva is presented as Mṛtyuñjaya and Śaṅkara—the auspicious Pati who governs the destiny of all beings and has the power to dissolve the pasha of mortality and bondage, granting liberation while also sustaining dharmic worldly life.
Bhakti-yukta sampūjā (complete worship with devotion) of Mṛtyuñjaya—implying mantra-japa, offering, and reverent service as a Shaiva sādhana aligned with Pashupata aims of overcoming bondage and attaining grace.
