FAQs

This verse is primarily a dharma instruction on Śrāddha and place-based sanctity; it does not directly define Ātman, but it assumes a moral-cosmic order where rightful giving (dāna) in sacred contexts yields subtle, trans-generational spiritual benefit.

No specific yogic technique is taught here; the practice emphasized is karmayoga in the form of śrāddha-dāna—disciplined, reverent offering in tīrthas and secluded places, aligning action with dharma and purity of intention.

The verse does not explicitly mention Śiva or Viṣṇu; it reflects the Purāṇic synthesis indirectly by grounding spiritual progress in dharma (ritual purity, sacred geography, and offering), a shared framework across Śaiva and Vaiṣṇava traditions in the Kūrma Purāṇa.
