मदन्वये तु ये सूताः संभूता वेदवर्जिताः / तेषां पुराणवक्तृत्वं वृत्तिरासीदजाज्ञया
madanvaye tu ye sūtāḥ saṃbhūtā vedavarjitāḥ / teṣāṃ purāṇavaktṛtvaṃ vṛttirāsīdajājñayā
Pero aquellos Sūtas nacidos en mi linaje y apartados del estudio védico—por mandato de Brahmā (Ajā)—tuvieron por sustento la recitación y la exposición de los Purāṇas.
