Parīkṣit’s Inquiry into Vṛtrāsura’s Bhakti and the Beginning of Citraketu’s Trial
कृतद्युतिरजानन्ती सपत्नीनामघं महत् । सुप्त एवेति सञ्चिन्त्य निरीक्ष्य व्यचरद्गृहे ॥ ४४ ॥
kṛtadyutir ajānantī sapatnīnām aghaṁ mahat supta eveti sañcintya nirīkṣya vyacarad gṛhe
Ignorando el gran pecado de sus coesposas, la reina Kṛtadyuti pensó: «Mi hijo duerme profundamente». Lo miró y siguió andando por la casa, sin comprender que ya había muerto.
It says Kṛtadyuti, not knowing the serious wrongdoing committed by her co-wives, assumed the person was merely asleep and continued her household movement after briefly checking.
Because she was unaware of the harmful act done by the co-wives; lacking that knowledge, the outward appearance seemed like ordinary sleep.
It highlights how ignorance of hidden actions can distort our judgment; devotees are encouraged to be discerning, seek truth carefully, and avoid assumptions in sensitive situations.
