Gṛhastha-Dharma: How a Householder Attains Liberation by Offering All to Vāsudeva
This verse instructs that a twice-born householder should perform śrāddha for father and mother in the month of Proṣṭhapada during the dark fortnight, offering according to one’s means.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is speaking, describing ideal household duties as part of dharma, including timely śrāddha for parents and their relatives.
Honor and gratitude toward parents and forebears can be practiced through sincere remembrance, appropriate charity and feeding of others in their name, and performing traditional rites within one’s capacity.
