The Forest of Material Existence: Jaḍa Bharata Instructs King Rahūgaṇa
रहूगण त्वमपि ह्यध्वनोऽस्य सन्न्यस्तदण्ड: कृतभूतमैत्र: । असज्जितात्मा हरिसेवया शितं ज्ञानासिमादाय तरातिपारम् ॥ २० ॥
rahūgaṇa tvam api hy adhvano ’sya sannyasta-daṇḍaḥ kṛta-bhūta-maitraḥ asaj-jitātmā hari-sevayā śitaṁ jñānāsim ādāya tarāti-pāram
Mi querido rey Rahūgaṇa, tú también eres víctima de la energía externa, pues estás en el camino del atractivo del placer material. Para que seas un amigo ecuánime de todos los seres, te aconsejo abandonar tu posición real y la vara con que castigas. Renuncia al apego a los objetos de los sentidos y toma la espada del conocimiento, afilada por el servicio devocional a Hari; así cortarás el duro nudo de la māyā y cruzarás al otro lado del océano de la ignorancia.
