जात: सुतो ह्यनेनाङ्ग मां यजस्वेति सोऽब्रवीत् । यदा पशुर्निर्दश: स्यादथ मेध्यो भवेदिति ॥ १० ॥
jātaḥ suto hy anenāṅga māṁ yajasveti so ’bravīt yadā paśur nirdaśaḥ syād atha medhyo bhaved iti
Luego, al nacer el hijo, Varuṇa se acercó a Hariścandra y dijo: «Ahora tienes un hijo; con este hijo ofréceme el sacrificio». Hariścandra respondió: «Cuando hayan pasado diez días desde el nacimiento del animal, entonces se vuelve apto para el sacrificio».

This verse shows that the deity (Varuṇa) indicates the rite should be done at the proper time—after the desired result (a son) has manifested and when the offering is deemed fit (free from blemish).
Because the boon (a son) had been obtained through the vow/rite, Varuṇa reminded Hariścandra to fulfill his promised worship and sacrifice according to the agreed conditions.
Keep vows and commitments with integrity, and act at the right time with proper qualification—don’t rush sacred duties or ethical responsibilities before conditions are truly suitable.
