The Disappearance of Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa and the Aftermath in Dvārakā
This verse states that Arjuna arranged the proper post-death rites for the slain relatives, emphasizing that honoring the departed through prescribed rites is part of dharma, even amid tragedy.
Because many were killed and their gotras were left without surviving caretakers, Arjuna took responsibility to ensure the dead received the appropriate rites, done correctly and in sequence.
It teaches taking responsibility during loss: perform one’s duties with care and respect—especially toward elders, family, and the departed—even when circumstances are overwhelming.
