Parīkṣit’s Final Absorption, Takṣaka’s Bite, Janamejaya’s Snake Sacrifice, and the Vedic Sound-Lineage
rājovāca siddho ’smy anugṛhīto ’smi bhavatā karuṇātmanā śrāvito yac ca me sākṣād anādi-nidhano hariḥ
This verse shows Parīkṣit declaring himself fulfilled because he directly heard about Hari—indicating that attentive hearing of the Lord’s glories is itself a path to spiritual perfection.
Because, by the compassion of the saintly speaker, he received direct narration of the Supreme Lord (Hari), which is considered the greatest mercy and the essence of success in life—especially at life’s end.
Make regular time to hear or study Bhagavatam/Hari-katha from authentic sources; treat that hearing as a primary spiritual practice, cultivating gratitude and steadiness rather than distraction.
