Kṛṣṇa Visits Indraprastha; Kuntī’s Remembrance; Kālindī and Further Marriages
This verse states that in the extraordinary assembly hall gifted by Maya, Duryodhana’s perception became confused—he mistook water for land and land for water—highlighting how bewilderment and pride can lead to humiliation.
Because Maya had been rescued from a great fire, he repaid that favor by offering his friend a magnificent sabhā (assembly hall) as an expression of gratitude.
The verse warns that ego and rivalry can distort perception; cultivating humility and gratitude helps one avoid unnecessary conflict and the “illusion” of misjudging situations and people.
