Este breve himno de tradición atharvavédica combina una súplica de sanación y prosperidad con una fuerte instauración de la autoridad del mantra: se pide a las Aguas y al Sol que otorguen dulzura, purificación, gozo y resplandor, mientras Savitṛ establece un vigor expansivo. Luego el himno pasa a una autoproclamación de Vāc (la Palabra divina), en la que la Palabra afirma su poder de ordenar el cosmos, haciendo que la enunciación del recitador sea social y ritualmente eficaz — capaz de conferir «ser» y de negar reconocimiento al adversario sin sostén ritual.

Para mí, que las Aguas, melosas, pongan en marcha sus fuerzas; para mí el Sol ha traído gozo hacia la luz. Para mí los dioses, sí, todos los dioses nacidos del ardor sagrado (tapas); para mí, que el dios Savitṛ establezca un poder de amplio alcance.

अ॒हं वि॑वेच पृथि॒वीमु॒त द्याम॒हमृ॒तूंर॑जनयं स॒प्त सा॒कम्। अ॒हं स॒त्यमनृ॑तं॒ यद् वदा॑म्य॒हं दैवीं॒ परि॒ वाचं॒ विश॑श्च
Yo separé y dispuse la Tierra y también el Cielo; yo engendré las estaciones, siete juntas. Yo—cuanto digo—lo hago verdad y no-verdad; con la Palabra divina (Vāc) abarco también a los pueblos.

Yo engendré la Tierra y también el Cielo; yo engendré las estaciones, los siete ríos. Yo—cuanto digo—lo hago ser y no-ser, verdad y no-verdad: yo—para aquel a quien la pareja compañera Agni y Soma no favorece.
