Sukta 1
सोमं मन्यते पपिवान् यत् संपिंषन्त्योषधिम्। सोमं यं ब्रह्माणो विदुर्न तस्याश्नाति पार्थिवः
sómaṃ manyate papivā́n yát sáṃ piṃṣánty óṣadhim | sómaṃ yáṃ brā́hmaṇo vidúr ná tásyāśnāti pārthiváḥ ||
He deems it Soma, having drunk, when they crush the herb together. But the Soma which the Brahmans know—of that the earthly man partakes not.
Lo tiene por Soma, tras haber bebido, cuando machacan juntos la hierba, la Oṣadhi. Pero el Soma que conocen los brahmanes, de ese el hombre terrenal no participa.
