Así como se llena el cuerpo con el aire externo como un fuelle, del mismo modo, una vez plenamente colmado, debe permanecer firme; por ser un llenado (pūraṇa), se conoce como Pūraka (inhalación).

FAQs

It defines Pūraka in prāṇāyāma: controlled inhalation that ‘fills’ the body with external air, followed by steadiness (preparatory stabilization before the next phase).

Alongside ritual, polity, and arts, the Agni Purāṇa also codifies practical yoga-physiology—here giving a technical definition of a core breath practice (pūraka) using a precise operational analogy (bellows).

Disciplined inhalation and steadiness support prāṇa-regulation and mind-stability, traditionally understood to aid purification and concentration for meditation and higher yogic practice.
