Related Themes: Agni Purana Vrata–Dāna–Śānti sections on grain-dāna, puṣpa-upacāra, and prayāścitta gestures (same khanda context)
It prescribes a dravya-dāna/ritual-offering set (barley, rice, millet, sesame, mustard, bamboo fan) and the specific procedure of placing the collected offering in vessels and ceremonially bearing it on the head.
It exemplifies the text’s catalog-like coverage of practical religious life—itemizing exact materials (grains, seeds, flowers, implements) and the method of performance—alongside its many other domains (law, polity, medicine, arts).
Such materially specific dāna with a prescribed gesture (head-bearing) functions as a humility-and-purification act, intended to accrue merit (puṇya) and support śānti (appeasement/auspiciousness) through disciplined giving.
