FAQs

It conveys a catalog of recognized knowledge-texts (tantra/treatise traditions), indicating which named compendia are to be consulted as authoritative sources.

By listing multiple specialized works and traditions (Śaunaka, Vāsiṣṭha, Kapila, Nārāyaṇīya, etc.), it frames the Agni Purana as a hub that indexes diverse disciplines and lineages of instruction.

Recognizing and studying approved śāstric sources is presented as a dharmic act that supports right understanding (samyag-jñāna), guiding correct practice and reducing error in ritual and conduct.
