FAQs

It prescribes a homa sequence: perform 100 fire-offerings (āhutis) using the mūlamantra, then complete the rite with the concluding full oblation (pūrṇāhuti) under the guidance of the deśika.

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s procedural coverage of applied ritual technology—counted oblations, mantra-application, and formal closure (pūrṇāhuti)—alongside its many other domains (law, polity, medicine, architecture, and arts).

Repeated āhutis with the root-mantra are meant to firmly invoke and propitiate the deity, while the pūrṇāhuti ritually “seals” and perfects the sacrifice, aiming at purification, merit (puṇya), and successful completion (siddhi) of the rite.
