Dīkṣāvidhi-kathana
Explanation of the Rite of Initiation

Concept: Pratyahara-like reabsorption of manifested experience into the heart culminating in tanmatra-level subtlety and jiva-samatva.
Application: Use as a guided meditation map: gross-to-subtle withdrawal, ending in stable non-reactive awareness.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 27 (Srishti–samhara–viveka / laya-yoga sequence)
It teaches laya-yoga practice: after visualizing an inner creation, the meditator dissolves it sequentially into the heart until only tanmātra-level subtlety remains and the mind rests in identity with the jīva.
Alongside rituals, polity, and arts, the Agni Purana also preserves technical yogic methodology—here, a systematic inner cosmology (sṛṣṭi) followed by ordered reabsorption (saṃhāra) framed in Sāṃkhya-style tanmātras and meditative praxis.
By withdrawing projected experience back into its subtle causes and stabilizing in sameness with the jīva, the practitioner reduces mental dispersion and karmic entanglement, cultivating inner purification and steadiness conducive to liberation-oriented insight.
