FAQs

This verse frames Veda-division as a compassionate, yuga-appropriate ordering of sacred knowledge, making revelation accessible and preservable in Dvāpara conditions.

Parāśara speaks as a direct witness within the teaching lineage, identifying the arranger as his great-souled son (Vyāsa) and promising an accurate account of how the Vedas were set in order.

Even when not named in the verse, the Purāṇic frame treats the safeguarding of Vedic revelation as part of Vishnu’s sovereign maintenance of cosmic order (dharma) through empowered sages like Vyāsa.
