ख्यातिं यास्यति सर्वत्र नाम्ना रुद्रशिरः क्षितौ । साधकः सर्वकृत्यानां तेजोभाजां द्विजन्म नाम्
khyātiṃ yāsyati sarvatra nāmnā rudraśiraḥ kṣitau | sādhakaḥ sarvakṛtyānāṃ tejobhājāṃ dvijanma nām
“It shall become renowned everywhere on earth by the name ‘Rudraśiraḥ’; and it will accomplish all sacred aims for the radiant twice-born.”
Śiva (continuing the instruction)
Tirtha: Rudraśiraḥ
Type: kshetra
Scene: A sacred spot newly designated ‘Rudraśiraḥ’; sages or dvijas stand in reverence as the tīrtha’s name is proclaimed, suggesting a consecratory moment where fame radiates outward.
Where sincere penance meets divine ordinance, a place becomes a tīrtha—capable of uplifting devotees and fulfilling dharmic aims.
Rudraśiraḥ—declared to be famous on earth and efficacious for accomplishing sacred undertakings.
The verse highlights the fruit (phala) of the site—siddhi in kṛtyas (religious undertakings); the prior prescription is tapas, samādhi, and Śiva-worship.
