चकार शयनं तत्र श्वेतद्वीपे यथा पुरा । स्तूयमानः सुरैः सर्वैः समंताद्विनयान्वितैः
cakāra śayanaṃ tatra śvetadvīpe yathā purā | stūyamānaḥ suraiḥ sarvaiḥ samaṃtādvinayānvitaiḥ
There he made his resting-place, just as formerly in Śvetadvīpa, while all the gods—humble on every side—praised him.
Narrative voice (Purāṇic narrator)
Tirtha: Śvetadvīpa-sadṛśa Jalaśāyī-tīrtha
Type: kshetra
Scene: Viṣṇu reclines upon Ananta in milky waters within the lake; devas encircle the scene in the sky, hands folded, singing hymns with gentle humility.
Humility and praise before the Divine are themselves purifying; the sacred site becomes a reflection of higher realms.
The local tīrtha is exalted by being likened to Śvetadvīpa through the Lord’s śayana (repose).
No formal rite is stated; the practice implied is stuti—devotional praise offered by the devas.
