कोटिद्वादशकं यस्तु सूर्याणां पूजयेन्नरः । तत्फलं प्राप्नुयात्कृत्स्नं पूजयन्नात्र संशयः
koṭidvādaśakaṃ yastu sūryāṇāṃ pūjayennaraḥ | tatphalaṃ prāpnuyātkṛtsnaṃ pūjayannātra saṃśayaḥ
But the man who worships twelve crores of Sūryas (the Sun’s forms) attains that entire fruit in full by worship here—of this there is no doubt.
Skanda (deduced from Nāgarakhaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya narration style)
Type: kshetra
Listener: a brāhmaṇa interlocutor (dvija-śreṣṭha addressed in the next verse)
Scene: A pilgrim offers arghya and flowers to a radiant Sūrya presence at a sanctified spot; multiple solar discs or twelvefold rays subtly indicate ‘twelve crores of Sūryas’ as an infinite multiplicity condensed into one shrine-space.
A tīrtha concentrates spiritual potency: worship performed there is said to yield immense merit, equivalent to vast acts of devotion elsewhere.
Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra, where solar worship is declared extraordinarily fruitful.
Worship of Sūrya (solar forms/Ādityas) in this kṣetra is prescribed as a means to obtain the full promised fruit without doubt.
