ततश्च द्विजवर्यैः स संन्यस्तः पृथिवीपतिः । पृष्टश्च प्रार्थितश्चैव निजराज्यस्य रक्षणे । अन्यस्मिन्दिवसे प्राह कृतांजलिपुटः स्थितः
tataśca dvijavaryaiḥ sa saṃnyastaḥ pṛthivīpatiḥ | pṛṣṭaśca prārthitaścaiva nijarājyasya rakṣaṇe | anyasmindivase prāha kṛtāṃjalipuṭaḥ sthitaḥ
Then that renounced lord of the earth was questioned and earnestly entreated by the best of brāhmaṇas to protect his own kingdom. On another day, standing with hands folded in reverence, he spoke.
