बाल उवाच । व्यक्तं तैस्तमसा दत्तं दानं पूर्वेषु जन्मसु । रजसा पूजितः शंभुस्तत्प्राप्तं स्वकृतं च तैः
bāla uvāca | vyaktaṃ taistamasā dattaṃ dānaṃ pūrveṣu janmasu | rajasā pūjitaḥ śaṃbhustatprāptaṃ svakṛtaṃ ca taiḥ
Bāla said: Clearly, in former births they gave charity even under the sway of tamas, and they worshipped Śambhu under the influence of rajas. Thus they have obtained the fruit of their own deeds.
