Liṅga–Bera Pūjā: Nitya-Arcana and Upacāras as an Accessible Sādhana (लिङ्गबेरपूजा-विधानम्)
तयोर्मानं निराकर्तुं तन्मध्ये परमेश्वरः । निष्कलस्तंभरूपेण स्वरूपं समदर्शयत्
tayormānaṃ nirākartuṃ tanmadhye parameśvaraḥ | niṣkalastaṃbharūpeṇa svarūpaṃ samadarśayat
To humble the pride of those two, the Supreme Lord appeared between them and revealed His own essential nature in the form of the partless, motionless pillar (the Linga).
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Liṅgodbhava
Sthala Purana: Liṅgodbhava: Śiva manifests as the infinite, partless pillar between Brahmā and Viṣṇu to subdue their pride and reveal His true nature beyond measure (ananta).
Significance: Contemplation of the niṣkala-stambha teaches the devotee to transcend ego and recognize Śiva as the sole independent reality; this insight is treated as a doorway to anugraha.
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: theophany: appearance of the infinite pillar between Brahmā and Viṣṇu
It teaches that even the highest cosmic powers must surrender ego; Śiva reveals Himself as the limitless, partless Reality (niṣkala) that transcends all measures, dissolving pride and opening the way to true knowledge.
The verse presents the Linga as the sacred sign of the Supreme—form that points to the Formless. Linga worship trains the mind to revere Parameśvara beyond name and shape while approaching Him through a tangible, grace-filled manifestation.
Meditate on the Linga as the infinite pillar of consciousness and offer water, bilva leaves, and mantra-japa (especially the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to cultivate humility and inner stillness.
