Even a mortal of only slight spiritual inclination—once he passes beyond three births—will no longer be subjected to the torment of the womb and the harsh mechanism of repeated embodiment. Of this there is no doubt.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Significance: Emphasizes the compassion of Śiva’s path: even minimal bhāva, if connected to Śiva-dharma, leads beyond repeated embodiment; encourages perseverance in worship with confidence in eventual release from saṃsāra.
Role: nurturing
It emphasizes Shiva’s grace and the weakening of pāśa (bondage): even a small Shaiva orientation can mature across births until the jīva is freed from the compulsive cycle of embodiment and its womb-born suffering.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, worship of Saguna Shiva (especially the Linga as the accessible form of Pati) purifies karma and loosens bondage; the verse points to the long-term fruit of such devotion—progress beyond repeated births.
Sustained Shaiva sādhana—daily Linga-pūjā, japa of the Panchākṣarī ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), and wearing Rudrākṣa/Tripuṇḍra with disciplined conduct—supports the purification implied by the verse.
