Then, having respectfully dismissed the Lord of the gods (Śiva) from the rite, one should carefully preserve the sacred fire. Or, having dismissed that fire as well, one should perform daily worship by establishing the inner focus at the navel-centre, in steady concentration.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It teaches disciplined completion of worship: respectfully concluding the invoked presence, safeguarding sacred supports like Agni, and maintaining nitya-pūjā through steady inner concentration—devotion (bhakti) joined with yogic saṃdhāna toward Pati (Śiva).
It reflects Saguna upāsanā in ritual form (invocation, worship, and formal dismissal), while also pointing to internalized worship—fixing awareness at a subtle centre—showing how external Liṅga-pūjā matures into inward contemplation without abandoning reverence for Śiva.
Ritually: perform proper udvāsa (concluding rite) and preserve the sacred fire if maintained. Meditatively: daily worship with the mind established in concentration, focusing at the nābhi (navel-centre) as an inner seat for steady japa and contemplation of Śiva.
