Threefold Nyāsa and the Procedure of Elemental Purification

Or else, one may perform only the five-part nyāsa beginning with the head; and likewise the six-limbed nyāsa—without elaborate preliminaries such as bhūta-śuddhi. Thus, in a concise manner, having purified body and self, and having entered the state of Śiva-consciousness, one should worship Parameśvara.

It teaches that the essence of worship is inner purification and entering Śiva-bhāva; even abbreviated nyāsa, done with sincerity, prepares the devotee to worship Parameśvara and progress toward liberation.
Nyāsa internalizes the deity’s presence in the worshipper, so external pūjā—such as Liṅga worship—becomes an expression of realized Śiva-consciousness, aligning outer ritual with inner devotion to Saguna Śiva.
Perform pañcāṅga-nyāsa (head and related placements) and ṣaḍaṅga-nyāsa in a concise form, even without extended bhūta-śuddhi, then worship Śiva after cultivating Śiva-bhāva (steady devotional awareness).
