It presents Shiva as the unborn, undecaying, all-pervading Lord (Pati) whose realization ends the cycle of birth; liberation is described as the ‘nirodha’ of samsaric becoming.
Linga-worship is a Saguna support for meditation, guiding the devotee to recognize the same Shiva as the formless, all-pervading reality who is beyond birth and decay.
Meditate on Shiva as sarvagata (all-pervading) and repeat the Panchakshara mantra ‘Om Namaḥ Śivāya’ with yogic restraint (nirodha) to loosen bondage (pāśa) and orient the mind toward moksha.
