अनुग्रह-स्वातन्त्र्य-प्रमाणविचारः | Inquiry into Pramāṇa, Divine Autonomy, and Grace

Again, this (individual soul) is said to be dependent—fit to receive grace and subject to another’s will. For without Śiva’s grace, it has no access to either worldly enjoyment or liberation.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Establishes the Siddhāntic axiom that bhukti (worldly fruition) and mukti (liberation) are unattainable without Śiva’s anugraha; pilgrimage and worship are framed as means that dispose the paśu toward receiving grace rather than as self-sufficient causes.
Role: liberating
It teaches the Shaiva Siddhanta principle that the jīva (paśu) is inherently dependent and cannot reach either enjoyment (bhukti) or liberation (mukti) by self-effort alone; Śiva’s anugraha (grace) is the decisive cause.
Linga/Saguna-Śiva worship is a primary means of becoming ‘anugrāhya’—fit for grace—through devotion, purity, and surrender; the verse emphasizes that the fruit of worship culminates by Śiva’s gracious bestowal rather than mere ritual mechanics.
Cultivate grace-oriented practice: daily Shiva-pūjā with the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and inward surrender (śaraṇāgati), understanding that results mature through Śiva’s anugraha.
