The classes of sound and expression (varṇas) pervade the worlds, for they are apprehended within those very worlds. And the worlds, in turn, are pervaded by streams of tattvas (cosmic principles), because at creation these principles proceed outward and inward, manifesting both the inner and outer order of existence.

Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Role: creative
Cosmic Event: cosmic emanation (sṛṣṭi) described as inward-outward manifestation of tattvas
It teaches that both sacred sound (varṇa) and the cosmic principles (tattvas) permeate all realms, indicating that bondage and liberation operate through an all-pervading divine order ultimately grounded in Shiva as Pati (the Lord).
Since the worlds are structured by tattvas and apprehended through sound, Saguna worship—mantra, nama-japa, and Linga-upasana—uses sanctified sound and form to purify tattvas and turn awareness inward toward Shiva’s presence.
Mantra-japa (especially Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with inward contemplation is implied: refine speech and mind (varṇa) and trace experience back through tattvas toward Shiva.
