Śiva’s Boon to Viśvakarman and the Manifestation of Devī
Bhavānī/Parāśakti
विवेश देहं देवस्य देवश्चांतरधीयत । तदा प्रभृति लोके ऽस्मिन् स्त्रियां भोगः प्रतिष्ठितः
viveśa dehaṃ devasya devaścāṃtaradhīyata | tadā prabhṛti loke 'smin striyāṃ bhogaḥ pratiṣṭhitaḥ
He entered the body of that deity, and the god himself vanished from sight. From that time onward in this world, enjoyment with a woman became established.

The verse marks a turning-point where bhoga (sense-enjoyment) becomes socially established, symbolizing the strengthening of pāśa (bondage) that draws the pashu (individual soul) outward. In a Shaiva Siddhanta reading, it highlights how identification with body and desire veils the divine presence and delays liberation.
As bhoga becomes dominant, the mind turns outward; Linga-worship and Saguna Shiva-upasana re-center the devotee on Pati (Shiva) through symbol and form. The Linga functions as a stable focus to transcend bodily identification and purify desire into devotion.
The practical takeaway is restraint and purification: steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), worship with bhasma (Tripundra) and rudraksha (where appropriate), and meditative withdrawal from sense-objects to reduce bhoga-driven bondage.
