It points to Shiva’s tirodhāna (veiling): the Lord may withdraw from outer perception to turn the devotees inward toward steadier devotion, discernment, and the higher, inner realization of Pati beyond the senses.
When the visible form withdraws, the devotee relies on Saguna supports—Linga worship, mantra, and pūjā—to stabilize bhakti; through these, the mind becomes fit to intuit the Lord who is not confined to appearances.
Sustain reverent darśana through japa of the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steady dhyāna on the Linga, accepting moments of ‘absence’ as prompts for deeper interior contemplation.
