Those twice-born who accept the gifts and patronage of a king who walks in unrighteousness—such men surely go to dreadful hells; of this there is no doubt.
Suta Goswami (narrating the teaching of Dharma within the Umāsaṃhitā discourse)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It warns that spiritual status (being a dvija) does not protect one from karmic law: supporting adharma through acceptance of corrupt patronage binds the soul (paśu) with pāśa and leads to painful consequences.
