Umāyāḥ Kriyāyoga-Rahasya
The Esoteric Teaching on Umā’s Kriyāyoga
लोकसंरक्षणार्थाय लोकं द्रष्टुं पराम्बिका । रथमध्ये संस्थितेति भावयेन्मतिमान्नरः
lokasaṃrakṣaṇārthāya lokaṃ draṣṭuṃ parāmbikā | rathamadhye saṃsthiteti bhāvayenmatimānnaraḥ
The wise person should contemplate thus: “For the protection of the worlds, the Supreme Mother (Parāmbikā) has taken her place in the middle of the chariot, to behold the world.”
Suta Goswami (narrating the Uma-saṃhitā teaching to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It teaches dhyāna (contemplative visualization) of Parāmbikā as the cosmic protector—Shakti who actively sustains and safeguards the worlds under the Shaiva understanding of Pati (Shiva) and Shakti working as one divine governance.
It supports saguna-upāsanā: the devotee meditates on divine form and presence (here, the Mother enthroned in the chariot) as a doorway to realizing Shiva-Shakti unity, which is also worshipped through the Shiva-linga as the stable axis of grace and protection.
A focused visualization (bhāvana) in which one mentally places Parāmbikā in the chariot’s center and contemplates her intent—lokasaṃrakṣaṇa (protection of beings)—as a devotional meditation that can accompany japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and reverent worship of Shiva-Shakti.
