Description of the Power/Effects of Śiva’s Māyā
शिवस्सर्वेश्वरो देवस्सर्वात्मा सर्वदर्शनः । महिम्ना तस्य सर्वं हि व्याप्तं च सकलं जगत्
śivassarveśvaro devassarvātmā sarvadarśanaḥ | mahimnā tasya sarvaṃ hi vyāptaṃ ca sakalaṃ jagat
Shiva is the Lord of all, the supreme Deva—the indwelling Self of all beings, and the all-seeing Witness. Indeed, by His majesty, the entire universe is pervaded and sustained everywhere.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It declares Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) who pervades all as the inner Self and Witness; realizing His all-pervading presence loosens pasha (bondage) and supports the Shaiva path toward moksha.
The Linga is revered as the sign of the all-pervading, formless Reality; worshiping Saguna Shiva through the Linga trains the mind to recognize the same Shiva as the indwelling Sarvatma in all beings.
Practice japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) while contemplating Shiva as the all-seeing Witness in the heart and as the One who pervades the entire jagat; offer simple Linga worship with this bhava (inner attitude).
