It situates the teaching within sacred time-cycles (manvantaras), reminding the seeker that worldly orders arise and pass under the higher sovereignty of Pati (Śiva), while liberation lies in turning from transient lineage and time toward Shiva-bhakti and right knowledge.
By framing the narrative through cosmic genealogies, the Purana establishes the unfolding of dharma across ages; within that unfolding, Saguna Śiva—worshipped as the Liṅga—remains the enduring refuge and the stable center beyond changing Manvantaras.
No specific rite is prescribed in this line; the practical takeaway is attentive śravaṇa (listening) to Purāṇic teaching, traditionally supported by daily Liṅga-pūjā with the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and remembrance of Śiva as the Lord beyond time.
