सृष्टिविस्तारप्रश्नः (Sṛṣṭi-vistāra-praśnaḥ) — The Detailed Inquiry into Creation
प्रभासस्य तु सा भार्य्या वसूनामष्टमस्य च । विश्वकर्मा महाभाग तस्य जज्ञे प्रजापतिः
prabhāsasya tu sā bhāryyā vasūnāmaṣṭamasya ca | viśvakarmā mahābhāga tasya jajñe prajāpatiḥ
She became the wife of Prabhāsa, the eighth among the Vasus; and from that illustrious one was born the Prajāpati named Viśvakarmā.

This verse situates cosmic order through lineage: Prajāpatis arise within divinely governed creation, reminding the seeker that worldly manifestation operates under Pati (Śiva) as the supreme Lord, while beings and functions unfold through appointed progenitors.
Though genealogical, it supports Saguna Shiva understanding: the universe, its artisanship and structure (symbolized by Viśvakarmā), is part of Śiva’s orderly manifestation; Linga worship centers the devotee on the transcendent Pati who empowers all cosmic roles.
A practical takeaway is contemplative remembrance (smaraṇa) of Śiva as the inner ruler of creation while reciting the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating detachment from mere lineage/pride and aligning work and craft to dharma.
