It highlights reverence for realized wisdom: honoring Sanatkumāra as an “ocean of divine knowledge” models the Shaiva path where humility before true jñāna supports liberation and devotion to Pati (Śiva).
Praise of a realized sage is a form of dharmic preparation for Saguna Śiva worship—purifying the seeker’s mind so Linga-upāsanā can mature into inner realization of Śiva as the supreme Pati.
The takeaway is guru-vandana (salutation to the teacher) and śravaṇa (listening to sacred discourse); it can be paired with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” before study or pūjā.
