supādāya namaste'stu āraktacaraṇāya ca | nandyādigaṇasevyāya gaṇeśāya ca te namaḥ
Salutations to You, O Lord of beautiful feet; salutations to You whose feet glow with a reddish hue. Salutations to Gaṇeśa, attended and served by Nandin and the other gaṇas.

It teaches the Shaiva bhakti principle of approaching the divine through reverent namas—honoring Gaṇeśa as the gaṇa-adhipati within Shiva’s entourage, thereby aligning oneself with Shiva’s grace and auspicious order (ṛta).
In Saguna Shaiva practice, worship commonly begins with Gaṇeśa vandana to remove obstacles before Linga-pūjā; Gaṇeśa is praised here as inseparable from Shiva’s household and gaṇas, supporting smooth and focused Shiva-upāsanā.
Use this as a short Gaṇeśa-namaskāra before chanting the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) or beginning Linga-abhisheka; mentally visualize Gaṇeśa attended by Nandi and the gaṇas, and offer a simple salutation (añjali).
