Manu said: “O dear one, listen to my words. That God—indeed the supreme Person—is Śiva. Everything belongs to Him alone; and especially whatever is obtained through sacrifice is truly meant for Him.”

Mantra: sa devaḥ puruṣaḥ śivaḥ
Type: stotra

Offering: naivedya
It teaches that Śiva is the supreme Pati (Lord) and rightful owner of all results; therefore the seeker should renounce possessiveness and dedicate the fruits of ritual and action to Him, which purifies bondage (pāśa) and supports liberation.
By declaring Śiva as the supreme recipient of yajña, it supports Saguna worship—such as Linga-pūjā—where offerings (naivedya, abhiṣeka, homa) are consciously made to Śiva as the divine Person, even while acknowledging His transcendent nature.
A key takeaway is yajña-bhāvanā: perform worship or homa and mentally offer the entire yajña-phala to Śiva—optionally with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “oṃ namaḥ śivāya”—cultivating devotion and non-attachment to results.
