द्विजेश्वरावतारः
The Manifestation of Shiva as Dvijeśvara
स्वयं स्नातः शुचिर्भूत्वा प्रणम्य विबुधेश्वरान् । तमग्निं त्रिः परिक्रम्य शिवं दध्यौ समाहितः
svayaṃ snātaḥ śucirbhūtvā praṇamya vibudheśvarān | tamagniṃ triḥ parikramya śivaṃ dadhyau samāhitaḥ
Having bathed and become pure, he bowed to the lords among the gods. Then, circumambulating that sacred fire three times, steady in mind, he meditated upon Lord Śiva.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
It teaches the Shaiva Siddhanta-aligned sequence of sādhana: external purity (snāna, śauca), reverence (praṇāma), sacred orientation (pradakṣiṇā of agni), and finally inward absorption (dhyāna) in Pati—Lord Śiva—so the mind becomes fit for grace (anugraha).
The acts of bowing, circumambulation, and focused meditation are classic upacāras of Saguna worship; the same discipline is applied in Liṅga-pūjā through pradakṣiṇā and dhyāna, where the devotee fixes awareness on Śiva’s presence as the indwelling Lord.
It suggests snāna (ritual bathing), praṇāma to the divine, threefold pradakṣiṇā (circumambulation) of the sacred fire, and then one-pointed Śiva-dhyāna in a composed (samāhita) state—often supported in practice by japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
