The Lord of the monkeys established devotion to Rāma upon the earth. Becoming himself the foremost of devotees, he became the bestower of joy to Sītā and Rāma.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It upholds bhakti as a direct, purifying path: the ideal devotee not only worships but also establishes devotion in the world through example and selfless service, which is honored within Shaiva tradition as a means toward Shiva’s grace and liberation.
Though centered on Rāma-bhakti, it reinforces Saguna devotion—loving worship of the Lord with form—which Shaiva Siddhānta accepts as a powerful means to receive Pati (Shiva)’s anugraha; such devotion naturally supports reverence for Shiva’s Linga as the accessible sacred presence.
The takeaway is steady nāma-japa and seva: repeat the Lord’s name with one-pointed devotion and serve dharma; if practiced in a Shaiva mode, pair it with Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and daily worship with sincerity.
