All beings became filled with sattva (purity and clarity). Truly, it was as though a rain of nectar fell; and speech became auspicious in every way, so that it turned dear and pleasing to all living creatures.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It describes the mark of Shiva’s grace: the rise of sattva in beings, producing inner sweetness (like “nectar”) and making one’s speech naturally auspicious, truthful, and beneficial—an outer sign of inner purification on the path toward liberation.
In Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga-puja—devotion purifies the heart and senses. This verse reflects that fruit: when the devotee’s mind becomes sattvic through Shiva’s presence, even ordinary speech becomes pleasing and elevating, supporting dharma and devotion.
Cultivate sattva through steady japa of the Panchakshara mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), coupled with disciplined speech (satya, hita, priya). If practiced with Shiva-bhakti, it ripens into calmness and “nectar-like” inner joy.
