वीरभद्र-भैरव-आह्वानम् — Invocation of Vīrabhadra/Bhairava for Cosmic Reabsorption
बिभर्षि कर्मरूपेण वाराहेणोद्धृता मही । अनेन हरिरूपेण हिरण्यकशिपुर्हतः
bibharṣi karmarūpeṇa vārāheṇoddhṛtā mahī | anena harirūpeṇa hiraṇyakaśipurhataḥ
You uphold the worlds by the power of Your action; as Varāha, the Boar, You lifted up the Earth. And in that very form as Hari, Hiraṇyakaśipu was slain—thus Your divine manifestations protect the cosmos.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: nurturing
The verse teaches that the one Supreme Lord (Pati)—here praised as Shiva—acts through many saguna manifestations to uphold dharma, rescue the world, and remove destructive forces; recognizing this unity supports devotion and inner surrender.
It supports Linga worship by affirming that all visible divine acts and avatara-forms (like Varaha and Hari) arise from the one Lord; the Linga is the nonsectarian, concentrated symbol of that same all-supporting reality.
Meditate on Shiva as the indwelling power behind all protective forms while japa-ing the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and reinforce the attitude of refuge (śaraṇāgati) during daily worship with bhasma and Rudraksha if practiced.
