शुक्रस्य जठरस्थत्वं तथा मृत्युशमनी-विद्या (Śukra in Śiva’s belly and the death-subduing vidyā)
विद्यावर्तनमात्रेण ते सर्वे दैत्यदानवाः । उत्तस्थुर्युगपद्वीरास्सुप्ता इव धृतायुधाः
vidyāvartanamātreṇa te sarve daityadānavāḥ | uttasthuryugapadvīrāssuptā iva dhṛtāyudhāḥ
By the mere turning of that mystic spell, all those heroic Daityas and Dānavas rose up at once—like warriors awakened from sleep, already holding their weapons.

It highlights the potency of vidyā (mantric/occult power) to alter states of consciousness and readiness, reminding devotees that worldly power can be rapidly mobilized, while true refuge is in Pati (Shiva) rather than in transient force.
In the Yuddha narrative, displays of vidyā and martial awakening emphasize the limited, situational power of beings; Linga-worship centers the devotee in Saguna Shiva as the stable Lord beyond changing battle conditions, guiding the soul from agitation toward steadiness.
A practical takeaway is vigilance through japa—especially steady recitation of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—so the mind ‘awakens’ from tamas and becomes dhṛtāyudha (firmly equipped) with discrimination and devotion.
