त्रिपुरदीक्षाविधानम् — Tripura Dīkṣā: Prescriptive Procedure
Chapter on the Ordinance of Initiation
शिवार्चनप्रभावेण तन्माया सहसा मुने । त्रिपुरे न चचालाशु निर्विण्णोभूत्तदा यतिः
śivārcanaprabhāveṇa tanmāyā sahasā mune | tripure na cacālāśu nirviṇṇobhūttadā yatiḥ
O sage, by the power born of Śiva’s worship, that delusive power suddenly failed; and in Tripura it could not stir at all. Then the ascetic became swiftly dispassionate (free from fascination).

Type: stotra
Role: liberating

It teaches that Śiva-arcana (devotional worship) has the power to neutralize māyā—bondage and delusion—so the seeker naturally gains vairāgya (dispassion). In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, Pati (Śiva) weakens the pāśa (bond) and turns the pashu (soul) toward liberation.
The verse highlights the concrete efficacy of worship (arcana), a hallmark of Saguna devotion—offering, praise, and remembrance directed to Śiva (often through the Liṅga). Such worship steadies the mind, making māyā unable to ‘move’ or disturb the devotee’s inner state.
Regular Śiva-arcana with mantra-japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined purity supports this result: reduced distraction, weakening of delusion, and the rise of dispassion conducive to dhyāna.
