There too stood Lokāntaka, radiant in spirit; and the Lord Daityāntaka, destroyer of the Daityas. The god Bhṛṅgīriṭi was also present—illustrious, and beloved of the Deva of devas.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vīrabhadra
The verse highlights Shiva’s protective sovereignty: his radiant attendants (gaṇas) embody the Lord’s śakti in action, destroying adharma (symbolized by “daityas”) and restoring cosmic order under Pati (Shiva).
By naming Shiva’s beloved attendants, the text reinforces Saguna Shiva’s living retinue and lordship—devotees worship the Liṅga as Shiva’s supreme presence, while honoring his gaṇas as guardians who serve that same supreme reality.
A practical takeaway is protective remembrance (smaraṇa) of Shiva with the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—along with simple Shaiva observances like applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and cultivating fearlessness through devotion to Shiva as the remover of demonic tendencies.
