He beheld the gatekeepers seated upon jeweled thrones—radiant in white garments and adorned with ornaments of precious gems.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Bhairava
The verse highlights the sanctity of the divine threshold: disciplined guardianship, purity (white garments), and splendor (gems) symbolize an ordered, sattvic realm where approach to the Lord is regulated by dharma and reverence.
As a Yuddhakhaṇḍa narrative description, it supports Saguna devotion by portraying Shiva’s divine domain as concretely beautiful and protected—encouraging devotees to approach Linga-worship with inner purity and respectful observance.
A practical takeaway is cultivating śauca (purity): wear clean white or simple attire for pūjā, maintain a disciplined threshold (clean altar space), and enter worship with a guarded mind through japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya.”
