अलकापतेः तपः-लिङ्गप्रतिष्ठा च वरप्राप्तिः / The Lord of Alakā: Austerity, Liṅga-Establishment, and the Receiving of a Boon
देवेन दत्ता ये तुभ्यं वरास्संतु तथैव ते । कुबेरो भव नाम्ना त्वं मम रूपेर्ष्यया सुत
devena dattā ye tubhyaṃ varāssaṃtu tathaiva te | kubero bhava nāmnā tvaṃ mama rūperṣyayā suta
“May the boons granted to you by the Lord indeed come to fruition. You shall be known by the name Kubera—O son born from jealousy over My form.”
Lord Shiva (inferred, as the bestower/confirming deity within the Sṛṣṭi narrative of Rudra Saṃhitā)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
The verse shows Shiva as Pati (the Lord) who confirms and stabilizes destiny through grace: even a flaw like envy becomes a cause for transformation when placed under Shiva’s authority, turning the individual toward a dharmic role.
It reflects Saguna Shiva as the compassionate, personal Lord who grants boons and assigns cosmic functions. In Linga-worship, devotees approach Shiva as the accessible bestower of order, prosperity, and inner purification.
A practical takeaway is to worship Shiva with the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while offering bilva leaves and applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma), praying that negative emotions like envy be purified into devotion and disciplined responsibility.
